Feature: Karen Lynch / by Colin Czerwinski

Residing by the beach in Adelaide, South Australia, Karen Lynch is perpetually moved by color, geometry, graphic design, photography and cinema. As an analogue collage artist, she relies on her tools: paper, scissors and glue, to create stunning, surreal retro-futuristic landscapes that takes the viewer into an almost psychedelic trip.

...it could be the colour scheme in a shop window or a sunset, the architectural lines of a skyscraper (I actually worked in the building industry, engineering and an architectural office for many years). I’m a material driven artist so it’s often about the magazines and books I’ve come across that week. Usually I’m drawn to one image and that’s the starting point to build from there.
